Delete account
You can delete your mentro account yourself at any time, directly in the app. This page explains how, what is deleted immediately, what stays for 30 days and what remains with your training company for legal reasons.
How to delete your account
- Sign in to mentro.
- Open your profile picture at the top right and choose Settings.
- Under Account, choose Delete Account.
- Type «DELETE» to confirm and choose Delete.
You need neither the consent of your training company nor a request to mentro. Nobody can block or reverse the deletion. You receive a confirmation by email with the end date right away.
If you no longer have access
Write to support@mentro.ch from the email address you used to sign in to mentro, with the subject «Delete account». The 30-day period runs from the day your message arrives. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason.
What happens immediately
These steps happen with the deletion, immediately and irreversibly:
- Signing in is permanently blocked and open sessions end.
- Your email address is replaced by a substitute address in every directory. It is kept only in the deletion order, for the receipt and the final confirmation, and is deleted together with the final confirmation.
- Profile picture and stored signature are deleted.
- Your entry in the people search disappears.
- Open invitations, guest accesses and links for the guardian visa expire.
- Your memberships in all organisations end.
Signing in again is not possible afterwards.
What stays for 30 days, and why
Your name stays on the content already documented for another 30 days. During that time your training company can still attribute and secure the training documentation it has to keep under the training ordinance of its occupation. It is informed on day one and reminded after 14 and 23 days.
If the training company confirms that it has secured everything, the final step runs immediately. It cannot prevent or extend the deletion.
What happens automatically on day 30
- Your name is replaced by a neutral placeholder.
- Date of birth and the details of your legal guardian are removed.
- Notifications carrying your name are deleted.
- On completed, electronically signed education reports your name and your handwritten signature are replaced by a placeholder. Role, timestamp and checksum of the signature remain, so the document can still be shown to be unaltered.
- Signatures on documents that were never completed are removed entirely.
You then receive the final confirmation at your original email address. That address is deleted afterwards as well.
What remains with the training company
mentro documents vocational education. Learning journals, activities, practical tasks, observations, education reports and grades are records your training company has to keep under the training ordinance of its occupation. The content therefore stays with the company, but in mentro without your name and without your contact details. This is pseudonymisation, not anonymisation: your rights of access and rectification over this data remain.
Within the 30 days your training company can download a dossier with your name and date of birth. That copy sits outside mentro. The training company alone is responsible for it, and you exercise your rights over it towards the company.

If you administer an organisation
If you are the only administrator of your training company, the app warns you when deleting: afterwards nobody there can manage members until mentro invites a new administrator. If possible, appoint someone else as administrator first, or write to us so we can keep the training company running or close it down in an orderly way.
